First of all I want everyone to know how much planning Kory and I did for this trip. We spent many long hours and late nights trying to plan each and every minute here in SE Asia.........ok that was a complete lie. We probably spent a combined total of like five hours. After we bought our tickets to fly into Saigon and out of Bangkok we kind of decided to wing it from there. Sooo, After an eleven hour flight to Moscow, a ten hour flight to Singapore, and another two hour flight, I finally reached Vietnam. Kory wouldn't be arriving for another 7 hours so my plan was to go ahead and go to the guesthouse and get some rest. Luckily on the plane, I met a guy named lan who is a student at U of H. We talked and he off offhandedly offered to help me find my guesthouse. We got split up at the passport check because I had to get my visa. However, when I went down to baggage claim, he was waiting for me. As we traveled a pretty long ways, I started feeling pretty bad for Kory because I knew he was gonna have to get a taxi and hope he ended up at the right place. Especially beause it was in this crazy alley. It seemed like a pretty legit place online. Here's what we found.

The Guesthouse |
While I waited for him to show up, I took a walk outside. Within about 10 steps from the hotel, I was asked if I wanted to buy some marijuana. good first impression??? yeah I think so....The best part though was when a guy asked me if I wanted my shoes shined. I got confused for a second and looked down. yeah i was wearing tennis shoes..can you even shine those??? I went back to the guest house, took a nap and then I went downstairs to try to help Kory find the Guesthouse because it was back in an alley, and lo and behold he shows up on the back of a moto with a guy he met on the plane as well. Yeah we're both cheap and we know how to work free stuff.
